Now if I can learn to play well enough to do your workmanship justice. THANK you for your talent! I'm a very happy person in Virginia!!

I just received my new dulcimer yesterday and I am extremely happy with the sound and the look. My fingers are sore from playing all day. I have several other dulcimers but this one is the best! I am a happy camper!

David:
I have been so busy playing that I have not taken time to thank you for delivering my dulcimer to the festival in Baton Rouge. I have been even more pleased with dulcimer than I thought I would. It plays so smoothly it's a dream to play and the volume is great. At least 8 or 10 players in the club have tried it and you are correct it is getting better all the time.

Many Thanks,
A.B. White(Buddy)

Hello All, I had the pleasure of attending the Aug. 21, 2004 - Heritage Day Festival, Music on the Mountain, At Mount Mitchell State Park in North Carolina today, I got to hear, first hand, four of your Dulcimers, they had the most beautiful sound I've ever heard, Of course the Musician was none other than Mr. Don Pedi. It's an experience I'll never forget. I want to try my hand at playing the Dulcimer, When I get ready, One of your instruments will be my choice. Thanks, Michael W. Kindley (RAT) Concord, NC

Hello, David (also hi to Kathy and Webster), I cannot tell you how much pleasure I am enjoying every time I play my Dream Dulcimer. Anyone who reads this note, please rest assured that there are no finer dulcimers than those made by David McKinney. Rick and I are looking forward to the "Family" reunion in April - we are already signed on. See you then, Ginny

I hope this gets to you. I am Linda Allison and I bought a dulcimer from you last Saturday afternoon. I just want to tell you how much I like it and thank you for bringing it to me at the Ozark Campground. I will be practicing a little every day and maybe I can play like you in 100 years. Thanks again, Linda

Well, your creation for me (Curly Koa Dream) finally arrived last Thursday morning 8/28/03. Wanted to send a little note to express my deepest appreciation for the time and effort you put into this creation. It truly meets and exceeds all of my expectations. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to behold such a beautiful instrument. Indeed God must have inspired your hands to create it! Not only does it look beautiful but the sound it produces is absolutely captivating. So powerful and yet soooo sweet! The action on the fretboard is so smooth that my fingers can glide up and down the fretboard accurately hitting passages that had cause me problems in the past.

David, Thanks for building and delivering my new MMD to Winterfest in Irving, TX. The sound quality and playability of your instrument was amazing for a dulcimer that was only a couple of days old! The Paulownia wood is incredibly beautiful. I'm looking forward to having you build me another MMD (I really loved the looks of the Curly Maple you had on display). Keep up the good work and keep building GREAT dulcimers. Steve

I'm loving HAPPY I'm working on bowing a dulcimer. The rosin ruins strings, but a bowed dulcimer sounds very unique. Just wish I could make it sound as good as David Schnaufer does! Talk to you later

I feel truly blessed to own the beautiful mountain dulcimer that I bought at WinterFest in Irving,TX. In one of the classes I asked the instructor what good a 1 1/2 fret was. He said I could play, 'Man of Constant Sorrow'. He was right! The folks in the workshops enjoyed hearing that dulcimer, and I hope the ones who really liked it visited your table and bought one! My DARE students will love hearing this instrument. Leslie
